Moisture Cure Technology

Many of the Seal Bond products are based on polymer technology that reacts (cross-links) when exposed to moisture. The source of the moisture may be the substrate, such as wood or concrete or from the humidity in the atmosphere. Some Seal Bond users may choose to introduce a controlled source of moisture such as misting or a humidity controlled assembly area. The rate of cure is typically dependent on the specific formula, application, substrates and atmospheric conditions.

Elastomeric Technology - Seal Bond products which exhibit elastomeric versus rigid properties upon cure can provide all or some of the following advantages:

  • Compensation of movement due to varying thermal expansion of substrates.
  • Vibration and sound dampening.
  • Uniform stress distribution - eliminate localized stress evident with mechanical     fasteners.
  • High impact resistance.
  • Compensation for torsion forces.
  • No drilling, tapping, welding or other damage to component surfaces.
  • Prevention of contact corrosion.
Leed Certified Products:

Leed Certified Products

Most Seal Bond products qualify for either LEED® EQ Credit 4.1 Low Emitting Materials: Adhesives and Sealants or LEED® EQ Credit 4.2 Low Emitting Material - Paint and Coatings.

Contribution towards additional LEED® Credits may be available under LEED® Credit MR- 5.1 Regional Materials: 20% Manufactured Regionally, which requires building materials and products are manufactured regionally within a 500 mile radius.
